Hi Sarah! First and foremost, why do you think decorative cushions are so important in interior design?

Sarah: Decorative cushions are truly little miracles in the world of interior design. They can instantly change the look and feel of a room, increase coziness, and most importantly, add a personal touch. By playing with colors, textures, and shapes, you can create a dynamic atmosphere in your home.

 

There are so many options. How do you start the process of choosing the right decorative cushions?

Sarah: Great question! First, think about your overall style and color palette. Do you want something that complements your current decor or are you looking for a statement piece? Then, consider size and shape. A mix of large and small cushions creates interest.

 

How many decorative cushions should one have on a sofa?

Sarah: As a general rule, I recommend 3-5 cushions for a standard sofa, but this can vary depending on the size of your sofa and the look you are going for.

Any specific tips for combining different textures and patterns?

Sarah: Be bold! A mix of textures—like bouclé, linen, or velvet—adds a luxurious feel. For patterns, stick to a color palette but play with different scales of patterns to avoid it looking too busy.
